چکیده
Background Systemic Sclerosis-polymyositis/dermatomyositis overlap syndrome (SSc-PM/DM) occurs in 10 to 37% of cases and has great differential diagnostic difficulties. Muscle damage SSc-PM/DM is represented by myositis with primary inflammatory necrotic alterations muscle fibers type PM/DM. Objectives To evaluate joint patients SSc-PM/DM. Methods 112 pts had idiopathic myopathies, which 73 (51 lSSc 22 dSSc, male/female 24/49, mean age 44±14,5 years, average disease’s duration 7 (2;9) years) the standard clinical examination, intramuscular electromyography (IM-EMG) manual testing (MMT-8). Results All polyarthralgia, 40% - arthritis. Damage periarticular tissues formation flexion contractures was observed 70% pts, 16% large joints (knee elbow). X-ray changes hands feet (distal osteoporosis, narrowing spaces, smoothness phalangettes) were all 13% erosions associated osteoarthritis. There noticed significantly frequent development dSSc (p<0.05) high skin score (p<0.05). Osteolysis peculiar SSc detected 23.5% soft tissue calcinosis area phalangettes, metacarpophalangeal – 32% pts. Calcifications, specifically PM/DM, shoulder pelvic girdle, revealed 6% A direct correlation between disease osteolysis Myalgia proximal weakness dysphagia 43% dysphonia 19% Patients a moderate degree (MMT-8 76-115 points) prevailed topped 41% severe disabling functional disorders ≤75 showed 37%, 4% completely immobilized. In 18% PM during physical and/or laboratory examination ≥ 116 points). Analysis IM-EMG confirmed presence process (all decrease motor unit action potential (MUAP) spontaneous activity, polyphasia 93% immunological signs activity: ESR activity (p<0.02), CPK titers (p<0.01), a-Pm-Scl MUAP (p<0.03). Conclusion Muscular clear symptoms, underlying symptom involvement sharp movement intrinsic However, such do not lead complete immobility, as they are combined other manifestations SSc. Articular mainly changes, some common Disclosure Interests None declared

متن کاملPosterior Reversible Encephalopathy Syndrome in a Patient with Systemic Lupus Erythematosus/Systemic Sclerosis Overlap Syndrome
Posterior reversible encephalopathy syndrome is a clinicoradiologic entity associated with diverse medical conditions. It is very important to properly recognize this condition because early diagnosis and treatment usually result in its complete resolution, whereas a delay in giving an adequate therapy may lead to permanent neurologic sequelae. A case of posterior reversible encephalopathy synd...

Overlap syndrome, which is known as the coexistence of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) and obstructive sleep apnea (OSA), was first defined by Flenley. Although it can refer to concomitant occurrence of any of the pulmonary diseases and OSA, overlap syndrome is commonly considered as the coexistence of OSA and COPD. This disease has unique adverse health consequences distinct from ...

متن کاملAutoimmune hepatitis and systemic sclerosis: a new overlap syndrome?
OBJECTIVE We report the cases of two patients with the complete CREST variant (calcinosis, Raynaud's phenomenon, oesophageal dysmotility, sclerodactyly, telangiectasia) of systemic sclerosis (SSc) who developed autoimmune hepatitis. RESULTS Our findings suggest that autoimmune hepatitis can be considered to be one of the liver manifestations associated with SSc. Our data also indicate that, b...
